We at Sani Tech can provide communal sewage treatment plants to service small communities and villages. We specialize in building treatment plants from 500 to 5,000,000 litres per day. Complete services are available from the collection system to the treatment plant depending on how the project is to be designed.

  • Allow for smaller lots than individual systems.
  • Better protection of the environment and public health
  • Improved, more consistent effluent quality
  • Centralized treatment allows for lower maintenance and operating costs.
  • Allows for more sophisticated sewage and water treatment processes
  • Cost benefit of single rather than multiple systems

Communal systems typically consist of some form of collection system, a small centralized treatment facility, and a disposal field or method of disposal. Additional features such as water re-use technologies and other variations to the general theme are also used. The type and requirements for the collection system shall depend on a range of factors including local topography, soil depth, cost and expected hydraulic load and variation in hydraulic load. Several collection system options are available with our treatment systems:

Sewer lines from each dwelling gravity from the house to our treatment facility.

Each dwelling maintains a small pump facility which pumps to a common pressure sewer line. This option removes topographic restrictions of the gravity sewer.

All sewer lines from each dwelling gravity flow to a pumping well facility. The number and size depends on the topographic constraints.

Each dwelling has a small gravity fed holding tank and an interface valve. When tank water levels reach an upper limit, the valve is actuated and the tanks contents are drawn into a small bore sewer where it is conveyed to the treatment plant.
